Unlike other ordinary mobile card games, Yu-Gi-Oh!is a manga and story-based card game featuring 10,000 cards of monsters for you to collect and summon. Immersive and authentic battle scenes will be shown during the gameplay with excellent visual and audio effects. Players all over the world can battle against each other to reach the top of the tournament!

I enjoy this classic card trading duel game on my mobile devices whenever and wherever I want. The cards collection is massive and takes players a longer learning curve for each type of cards. However, that’s the beauty of this game and the strength of the mobile version. You can practice your skills and get familiar with those cards on the go without carrying all these cards like you would with its physical version.

Offered by Konami, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is the latest release of the card game series with other titles such as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. It is an online mobile version of the physical trading card game with even more complicity and additional features and rules. Players can enjoy this classic TCG on their mobile devices anytime and anywhere, either by themselves or with others. The app is available for free download on Android and iOS platforms while it also has a PC version. Players can enjoy this card game according to their own preference and current gaming levels. They can either play on the Solo mode to get themselves familiarize with the cards and rules at ease while revealing fascinating storylines along their way. Or for frequent players and those who seek excitement, they can opt for the tournament mode where they can participate in a wide range of events and duel with others to test out their gaming muscles. They can choose their interested tournaments and events to better aim for their goals. The game incorporates with many different cards with their own unique features and players get to learn to prepare their card decks strategically before the duels. This game might seem a bit complicated for beginners as it involves a massive collection of cards and the gaming phases are also complicated. Therefore, it might take some time for new players to get themselves familiar with the rules and game rhythms. However, this game is designed to cater to a larger range of players and the in-game tutorial and solo gaming mode are all useful for new players. In this sense, anyone who has an interest in TCG definitely can give it a try.

How to play

The goal of the dueling game is to constantly reduce your opponents’ life point (LP) towards zero level while protecting your own from dropping. Before entering the actual gameplay, players can watch a tutorial of the game to familiarize themselves with some core principles and key terms of the game rules. Experienced players can skip this and opt for their intended gaming mode. They can choose to play on a solo mode or participate in all kinds of tournaments and events to duel with others.  In the solo mode, the game progresses on a chapter-based pace with each chapter being a mini-campaign where players can get familiar with all sorts of cards during their play and get to know the stories waved in those cards. Besides, by playing solo mode, players can accumulate gems and rewards all along the way, which would be helpful for later tournaments. It is suggested that new players or return players can take the advantage of the solo mode to warm up and get used to the gameplay at a comfortable pace. If players compete with others in a duel, they have to prepare their deck first. The deck collects all the cards they will be drawing in their later duels to attack their opponents and protect themselves. This requires a familiarity with different types of cards and their effects, as well as player’s gaming styles. During a duel, players take turns to conduct their match phases—two main phases, one battle phase and two draw phases. During the draw phases, players will draw a card from their previously prepared deck so that they can use the cards to attack the enemy or initiate a special effect. The ultimate goal is to eliminate opponents’ LP, which is rarely attacked directly but rather gets reduced when the opponent fails to draw a counterattack card. Last but not least, in order to better save the game progress and records, players can link this game with their Konami account for safe-keeping.
