Solitaire is developed by MobilityWare, available for downloading on iOS and Android platforms. It is a mobile version of the classic Solitaire card game that players can enjoy anytime and anywhere on the go. Although there are many Solitaire variations and mobile games alike, this is the original one with a massive user base. The game app is free for downloads with in-app subscriptions providing even better gaming features and experience. Regardless, the core gameplay remains classic and familiar for most users who have played such card games alike. This online mobile version integrates both traditional Solitaire games as well as other attractive features. Apart from the default Solitaire (both draw-one and draw-three), players also get to participate in daily challenges to get a new and refreshing gaming experience out of the good-old game; what is more, players can also play offline with unlimited random challenges. Besides, thanks to its huge user base, this game is very interactive and gamers can stay active in the global Solitaire online community where they can join multiplayer competitions and climb up the leaderboard. Another appealing feature of the mobile version is that players can customize their gaming styles, such as the back of cards design and playing board patterns etc. Last but not least, the app allows players to keep on track of their own gaming stats by reviewing their performance history and progress, so that players can realistically get better at the game and notice their own playing patterns and styles. In this sense, this mobile game is trying to be a brain-trainer instead of being yet another solitaire game. Players can always challenge themselves and learn about their own gaming mechanism, which might bring some interesting intellectual rewards.

How to play

Although there are many other variations of Solitaire card game, the basic gameplay mechanism remain similar with modifications on specific game rules. The app offers the most original and classic Solitaire with either draw-one card or draw-three cards modes. For both rules, players start each round of their game with the same interface. In the main playing area known as the “tableau” (table), there are 7 piles of cards facing down. On the top right side of the tableau, there are 4 piles of empty card suits arranged from ace to king, and this area is known as the “foundation.” Then on the top left of the tableau, there is the card stock that players can decide to reveal 1 or 3 cards each time. Finally, there is the waste pile where unused cards from the stock are discarded. The goal of the game is to organize the cards in the 7 piles either in an ascending or descending order and eventually transfer the cards from the 7 moving piles to the 4 foundation piles according to their colors and shapes.  To move cards among the 7 piles depends on the specific rules of the solitaire you are playing, and the general rule of a classic solitaire is to move cards from one pile to another only when the numbers are consecutive and the neighboring card is in a different color. When a card is moved from one pile to another, then the next face-down card in that pile can be revealed. If no more move can be made, players can tap the stock pile to free one or three cards and drag the one that is useful to the moving piles. The game only ends when players move all their cards from the 7 piles and the stock piles to the 4 foundations. There is no time or number of move limits in this game.
